• I am an artist/designer/writer wife and mom raising a boy in the neighborhood I grew up watching on television.

Since 1995, I have been a practicing interior designer and a student / follower of all things design – interior, fashion, photography, music, film, art, and architecture. A Mississippi native, I came to Beverly Hills from New Orleans in 1999 after completing design school and having been an art broker. I am also known as the Beverly Hills Mom, and my alter ego reports on all the creative elements that I love and what happens in the life of a real Beverly Hills Mom.

When my son was born I started a series of paintings of my dog Louis XIV that I have developed into a picture book, and now am learning the ropes of finding representation and a publishing house. I joined SCBWI to meet other writer / illustrators / professionals of all sorts and to develop my own work. Look for me on social media as @Alexandra90210 which I update frequently.  Please feel free to contact me for commiseration or comment!

  • My drive is to write and illustrate picture books that evoke the wonderment I had as a child when reading Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tales. I still have this book, and when I look through the illustrations by Gustav Hjortland I get a certain inexplicable feeling that I wish for my readers. I love researching what’s not fiction and moving these finite elements around within my stories. I use the real and insert a little magic, and hope that I’ve given my wee readers a feeling like mine they can recall when they are grown.
