ABOUT ALEXANDRA H MACVEAN
Alexandra is an author and illustrator based in Fort Collins, Colorado. She’s a three-time Barnes & Noble Artist of the Month, recipient of a GOLD and SILVER medal Feathered Quill book awards for the children’s book she illustrated,”Ladybug! Ladybug!” and “Mia’s Magical Christmas Eve”, as well as, the host of a national/international online art co-op, Sunday Sketches.
Born and raised in Southern Ohio, Alexandra grew up with 3 brothers, a dog, and her two best friends, Heather and Brian. Whether it’s red barns, squirrels or cozy front porches, you can find snippets from her childhood memories tucked lovingly within many of her magical illustrations. As an illustrator, her work has been published across the world in online magazines, children’s books, and more.
Married to her best friend and confidant, Michael, continually inspires and grows her as a children’s book illustrator. Sharing a love of family, tea, England and cozy winter days, they can often be found together each drawing works of whimsy, while bundled up with Alexandra’s 10-year-old pups, Brendel. Alexandra’s illustration goals are to inspire, uplift and encourage individuals; both children and adults by bringing hope and joy to their daily lives.
Illustrating is the key to my personal secret garden of whimsical bunnies, foxes, children and more. With illustrators such as Beatrix Potter, Tim Budgen and Shirley Ng-Benitez being my inspiration, each day I look for a world of wonder and delight to inspire children and adults along my creative journey.
My goal for my work is to inspire, uplift and encourage individuals, bringing hope and joy to their daily walk in life.
