A retired fourth grade teacher, Amy Laundrie delights in presentations for all ages. Her five-book Kayla Montgomery Mystery Series appeals to older horse fans who enjoy light romance and suspense. Whinny of the Wild Horses and Noah’s Ark Pet Care Club are appropriate for 8-12 year olds. Follow Me Into the Woods and Follow Me Into the Night are nature picture books. The Quack-a-Doodle parade is a rip-roaring, rollicking story of a neighborhood parade. Stranded on Castaway Island is a young adult survival story. Sample Programs“The Game Writers Get to Play” is geared for K-3. Using numerous props, Amy stirs her audience’s imaginations.“It All Starts with the Egg” is for older students. She uses visuals aids to explain the process she went through to create her series. By the end, students are itching to write themselves.“Writing From the Gut”, a workshop suitable for grades 3-8, will demonstrate how writers use their life experiences and interests to create authentic writing.“Stories to Tell: Memories and More” is a workshop for older students. It encourages them to write from life experiences.“So you Want to be a Writer?” includes techniques and tips on how to get published.
