ABOUT ANITA MIETTUNEN
Anita Miettunen writes and illustrates in Vancouver, BC, where she completed her MA in Children’s Literature at the University of British Columbia, and certificates at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and BCIT. With a science background, she’s also worked in environmental regulatory science, coordinated a non-profit biodiversity research program, and now works as a policy analyst at Health Canada. Her children’s book, Big Blue Forever, is inspired by the true story of how a blue whale skeleton, buried for over twenty years in PEI, was shipped cross country and reassembled for permanent display at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum in Vancouver. You can follow Anita on Twitter (@anitamiettunen) and through Facebook (@anitamiettunenauthor).
My children’s middle grade picture book, Big Blue Forever, was published in 2017 with Red Deer Press. This is a non-fiction photo-based book about Canada’s largest blue whale skeleton!
