• Hi there! I am Bri Davey. I have been creating my whole life. Letterpress, calligraphy, sewing, pottery, and knitting to name a few of my artful endeavors. Recently I have headed back to my drawing and painting roots and am honing skills my grandmother taught me long ago in her watercolor studio (she still teaches watercolor to this day!). Working in watercolor and gouache has opened the illustration flood gates for all the quirky children’s book ideas that have been surfacing in my brain. I am building my portfolio one piece at a time.

When not working on my illustration portfolio I am wielding a calligraphy pen and lettering for my letterpress stationery line: Creative Lab Press, where I create greeting cards, wedding invitations and birth announcements with a century-old press.

I was raised in Montana, lived in Portland, OR for 8 years and now reside in Seattle, WA. I enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest by foot, sail, or skis. I absolutely love travel, long drawn-out meals with friends and family, when it snows in the city, picking berries at u-pick farms, making sugar cookies around the holidays, spending time with my favorite two boys (husband and dog) and knitting hats for little ones in my life.

  • I create art to make those around me laugh. To make myself laugh. To put my random, quirky and sometimes ridiculous imagination on paper and create something to share. To bring a smile to a child or an adults face, even for a moment.
