Denise Gallagher lives in the little town of Youngsville, Louisiana. She draws incessantly and loves to make beautiful things.
She has been recognized for her talents by such esteemed organizations as Print Magazine, Communication Arts Magazine, the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles and the Society of Illustrators New York.
Denise’s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana.
Her images provide glimpses of a mysterious tale that has yet to be written. Recurring characters — including bears, wolves and young children — find themselves in curious situations or tied with bits of string. Seemingly random objects become deeply meaningful and infused with magic.
Denise Gallagher’s work unfolds to reveal the charm of this dark and melancholy tale — meandering, mysterious and never mundane.
