ABOUT DIANA KIZLAUSKAS

  • Diana is a freelance illustrator with over 20 years of professional experience. She holds degrees in Art Education (UIC), Illustration (Ray College of Design, Chicago, IL), and has also honed her drawing skills at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She spent the first half of her career in advertising and editorial illustration. Among the many  projects she worked on were promotional materials for Brach’s®, Kraft Foods, Inc., Land O’Lakes®, McDonald’s and other nationally known companies. Since 2000, she has been working in the area of children’s trade, educational and e- publishing. Publishers of her illustrations include Pauline Books & Media, Scott Foresman/ Pearson Education, Harcourt, McGraw-Hill, Compass, EDCO/Ireland, JustKidsApps, and uTales.com.

ARTIST STATEMENT

  • My goal as a children’s illustrator is to teach, entertain and inspire. I take special interest in multicultural themes which promote understanding among children of different cultures and backgrounds. I like to make my illustrations bright, festive and positive in their reflection of the world.
