ABOUT ANNIE DONWERTH-CHIKAMATSU

  • I am a foreign wife of a Japanese national and a
    mother of two binational, bicultural, bilingual young adults and have lived in Japan in a multi-generational home (with grandparents living downstairs)
    for more than two decades. My debut middle grade novel, Somewhere Among (Atheneum 2016), was awarded the Freeman Book Award (NCT Asia), the Society of Children Writers and Illustrators Crystal Kite Award 2017, Writers’ League of Texas middle grade novel manuscript award 2013, Writers’ League of Texas Book award 2016 and was named a Bank Street College of Education Best Children’s Book of the Year (2017). I am represented by Holly McGhee at Pippin Properties, Inc.
