ABOUT ELIZA WHEELER

  • Eliza Wheeler is the illustrator-author of ‘Miss Maple’s Seeds’ which debuted on the New York Times bestseller list. She has illustrated numerous books for children, including ‘Wherever You Go’ and ‘When You Are Brave’ (Pat Zietlow Miller), ‘John Ronald’s Dragons: The Story of J.R.R. Tolkien’ (Caroline McAlister), and the Newbery Honor winning novel ‘Doll Bones’ (Holly Black). Eliza received the prestigious Sendak Fellowship award in 2017, and was an SCBWI Portfolio Showcase grand prize winner in 2012. Her second book ‘Home In The Woods’ is based on her grandmother’s childhood experience of living in a tar-paper shack in the woods with her seven siblings and their single mom. Eliza lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
