ABOUT ELIZABETH RAWLS
A dedicated artist with a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Michigan, and a Masters Degree in Counseling, I have been an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators since 2006 and was selected into the 2009 Mentor Program for Illustrators sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Chapter in Denver, Colorado. After living in San Francisco, CA for three years, participating in a monthly writers group and co- coordinating illustrators workshops with Brian Bowes, SCBWI CA Northern region illustrator coordinator I then moved to Denver and formed two author/illustrator groups which I facilitated monthly for two years. After one more move (and hopefully the last for a while) I currently reside in Boone, NC with my husband Terry.
Combining a unique blend of counseling and fine art degrees, I utilize humor and imagination as I write and illustrate books that encourage emotional intelligence and resilience in children.
