ABOUT HOLLY DEWOLF
Hi, I’m Holly DeWolf and I am an illustrator, author, mentor, blogger, mum and coffee drinker. I like to make visual impressions and push ideas. Making things has always been a big part of my life. When I left University I didn’t want any old job so I knew illustration was a keeper! I still love the process and the idea that illustration creates big meaning through visual storytelling. Currently, I live in the East coast of Canada with a beautiful view where I happily make things every day.
Top 5 favourite things: coffee, cool vintage collections, sand and surf, gouache and books.
Favourite quote: “When one man, for whatever reason, has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself” -Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
Favourite things about illustration: working at home, the process, mentoring, endless learning, drawing, and doodling.
What you’ll always hear me say: “Write that down!”
Sometimes the kid that draws becomes the explorer, the storyteller, the concept builder and the image maker. Being an illustrator means choosing life’s scenic route by seeing pictures in words, quotes, stories and small snippets of thought. Illustration is the universe’s way of wanting us to be happy in this world, many imaginary worlds, in space, down a rabbit hole or on cloud nine. Every little idea leads me on an endless path I’m very hopeful will never end.
