ABOUT JACQUELINE LIPTON
Jacqui Lipton, LL.B., M.F.A., Ph.D. is the founding agent of Raven Quill Literary Agency, which specializes in children’s literature. She is also an attorney and law professor specializing in the law of the publishing industry. She has written many books and articles on the law related to publishing. Her most recent is LAW & AUTHORS: A LEGAL HANDBOOK FOR WRITERS (UCP, 2020). She established the LEGALLY BOOKISH column for the SCBWI Bulletin which she now co-authors with attorney Linda Joy Kattwinkel. She also writes regular columns on legal and business issues for authors and illustrators for the Authors Alliance, Catapult, Luna Station Quarterly, and Savvy Authors. She holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts, where she was awarded the Critical Thesis Prize. She writes nonfiction books about the law, society and the arts and is represented by Jane Dystel at DGBLM.
