ABOUT JOE ROCCO

  • Joe Rocco grew up a Yankee, wandering the modern glass and metal beehive known as Manhattan, then eventually exploring the Great Malls of East Texas in the suburban landscapes of outer Dallas/Ft. Worth as a teen. Joe graduated from the prestigious Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, California and then worked in New York City for many magazines, book publishers, newspapers and various entertainment media organizations. Today Mr. Rocco lives with his cat Quigman, still concocting his illustrations and comics for only the most discerning clients.

Joe has won several newspaper awards, including the Society of Publication Design, for some of his cover work and 2 Alternative Newspaper Awards. For 10 years, Joe self-published and distributed his own cartoon, “Enquiring Minds”, with writing partner Mandy Foster, to alternative newspapers in The United States and Canada. For almost a full decade, Joe illustrated for the popular columnist Joe Bob Briggs. Joe Bob’s newspaper column, “Joe Bob’s America“, was syndicated by The New York Times.

Mr. Rocco is available for school appearances, interviews, book signings and bar mitzvahs. He’s spoken at public schools, colleges, libraries, conferences and signed his books at bookstores nationwide.
