ABOUT KAREN ALTSCHUL
I have a BA in Fine Art from Illinois State University, and also studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and in Florence, Italy. I exhibit my paintings and photography in the Chicagoland area.
I like gardening, reading (surprise!), and baking. I also love ballet: the costumes, the shoes, the hair, the graceful limbs, and the music. I live with my husband, two teenagers, and a mountain of laundry that has started giving me orders and asking to be fed.
I am influenced by all of the wonderful people, places, and things I encounter in my daily life, and I want to remember them all. There is a story in everything. Children, the garden, dancers, family memories and traditions. I have a BA in studio art. I’ve been working a lot with Procreate for digital illustration, and I also work in watercolors and acrylics, pastels, and mixed media.
