ABOUT KATHLEEN MOORE

Kate McCarroll Moore is a mentor teacher and staff developer throughout the greater Bay Area. Kate served three terms as the City of San Ramon’s Poet Laureate (2012-2018); she also teaches poetry writing workshops. Her poetry memoir, Alphapoetica: A Poetry Primer for the Everyday Poet was published in 2022, and her poetry chapbook, Avians of Mourning, was released in 2020. Kate holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from California State University, and she continues to promote poetry as a tool for transformation and healing. Her middle grade novel, Elinormal, was published in Fall 2021, and the sequel, New Girl: The Further Adventures of Elinormal followed in Spring 2022. Her debut picture book is slated for an early 2024 release.
