ABOUT KIMBERLY RUSSELL

  • Kimberly B. Russell lives on the Big Island of Hawaii, where she writes children’s picture and middle grade books, as well as writing textbooks for both children and adults in the field of English as a Second Language (ESL). She received an award for letter-writing, with her letter published in a collection titled, “A Letter to Myself”. She has lived, worked, and has traveled extensively throughout North America, Central America, and Asia. Her favorite job was letting ladybugs go for the US Department of Agriculture, and if you ask her about honeybees, she may tell you why Barry B. Benson in “Bee Movie” was the wrong bee for the job of pollen/nectar collector.  

ARTIST STATEMENT

  • Kimberly Russell creates thought-provoking stories using humor and adventure told through a diverse range of characters. She writes both fiction and non-fiction inspired by her global experiences in the US, SE Asia and Japan, and Central America. From bees and bugs, farms, animals and plants, people, places, and culture, to medicine and modern technology, Kimberly has a story about it.
