ABOUT LAURA FREEMAN

  • Originally from New York City, I now live in Atlanta with my husband and our two children. I received my BFA from the School of Visual Arts and began my career working for various editorial clients. I have illustrated over twenty children’s books,. My work on “Hidden Figures” written by Margot Lee Shetterly, received a Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor award, was recognized with an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work for Children, and reached the New York Times Best Seller list. In addition to illustrating books and editorial content, my art can be found on a wide range of products, from dishes and textiles to greeting cards.

    I am represented in the children’s book market by Janet DeCarlo at Storybook Arts, Inc. and in licensing by Mark Levison at Levison Design.
