ARTIST STATEMENT

  • Writing is like going on an unexpected journey–I never know where it will lead or what I might find. Once I have an idea, I pinch, prod, and coax it along until it emerges as a fully formed picture book that strikes a chord with me, and hopefully readers too. I try to write the sort of picture books I love–funny, whimsical and unforgettable. Although I always loved reading, it wasn’t until I was a stay-at-home mother of three that I asked myself—what could write?

    I’ve been writing ever since.
