• I am a 43 year old mother of two noisy children, living in the North West of England – the place where rain clouds come to die. I spend most of the year in anoraks.

Under the pseudonym, Chris Blake, I authored of the first six books in the 7+ historical fiction series, “Timehunters”, which were published in July 2013 and January 2014 by HarperCollins Children’s. This book packager series was developed in conjunction with Hothouse Fiction.

My debut international crime thriller, which started life as a New Adult novel, is called “The Girl Who Wouldn’t Die”. Published by Avon/HarperCollins, The Girl was riding high in the Amazon paid top 100 only two months after publication in April 2015 and continues to sell well and receive rave reviews. It won a coveted Dead Good Reader Award, namely the Patricia Highsmith Award for Most Exotic Location in a crime novel.

The second installment of these George McKenzie thrillers – named after the criminologist heroine – “The Girl Who Broke the Rules”, is due out August 2015, and the third, “The Girl Who Walked in the Shadows” will publish in November 2015. Although my work in progress is “The Girl Who Walked in the Shadows”, I also have a contemporary women’s novel, “Gardening Leave” on submission to editors. Watch this space for news…

My literary agent is Caspian Dennis of Abner Stein.

In those fleeting moments where I’m not writing or renovating houses – another passion of mine – I mainly like to drink gin.
