• Milanka Reardon has been creating art from the time she was a small child newly immigrated to the US. Since no one spoke her language at school, she found it easier and more fun to communicate with pictures when she didn’t understand the words. She is the  illustrator of five picture books, Harry Can Hear by Fynisa Engler, forthcoming 2023 by Lawley Publishing, Child of the Sea written by Maxine Rose Schur, 2022 by Lawley Publishing, An Old Man and His Penguin: How Dindim Made Joao Pereira De Sousa An Honorary Penguin written by Alayne Kay Christian, 2020 by Blue Whale Press, Who Will? Will You? by Sarah Hoppe  and Noodles’ and Albie’s Birthday Surprise by Eric Bennett, which is a 2018 Mom’s Choice Gold Award Recipient.
    Milanka was co-Illustrator Coordinator for the New England
    Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators from 2015 – 2021. She is a graduate
    of the Children’s Book Illustration and the Natural Science Illustration
    Certificate programs from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her illustration of “A Beary Special Friend” won the R Michelson Galleries Emerging Artist Award
    at the NESCBWI 2016 Conference. Her illustration of a dragon bridge won
    first place in the unpublished division in the NESCBWI poster showcase
    in 2012. Milanka’s artwork has  been displayed at the Wedeman Gallery’s
    “Picture a Story” exhibit,  the Warwick Museum of Art’s “Tell Me a
    Story” exhibit, at the Spring Bull Gallery in Newport, RI and at the R
