ABOUT MINDY DWYER

  • I grew up in the wooded hills and steel valleys of Pennsylvania, then went west looking for adventure. I found forestry, fine art and furniture making in Colorado, became a painter in the Northwest, a fisherman’s wife in Alaska and a bluegrass band-mom in New York. We have lived in many inspiring places of mountains, rivers, oceans and wilderness, raised three kids, ran away with the circus, and built a cedar gingerbread house in the Pacific Northwest, where I call home.

ARTIST STATEMENT

  • My stories and pictures blur the line between real and make-believe; they exist in that place where magic lives. Fairy tales give us permission to live the promise we all made as kids, to remember that anything is possible and that we are put on this earth to take part in adventure.
