Nellie Burke Maulsby has written mystery, romance, and contemporary fiction, but with her background in science as inspiration, she focuses mainly on science fiction. Her middle-grade novel, KAT, WITH A K, about a girl named Katherine who turns into a cat and saves a planet, was published under the name Nelli Burk, by Thunderchild Publishing in 2014. FOREVER KAT (Thunderchild Publishing, 2016) continues the ‘Adventures of Kat,’ with Katherine trying to stop an alien invasion while stuck in her cat form. Her latest book, WINGS TO FLY (Thunderchild Publishing, 2018), follows the adventures of David, an orphan living on a planet on the fringes of the galaxy, where outlaws rule and only the wings he builds can save him.
