attended New Trier High School and Yale College, majoring in Fine Art.
MFA in painting from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Rome.
Moved to New York for freelance illustration, 1977. First book: Emily Upham’s Revenge, or How Deadwood Dick Saved the Banker’s Niece, A Massachusetts Adventure, by Avi.
