ABOUT REBECCA HIRSCH

I live in Waukesha, Wisconsin with my husband and two daughters. I have a BFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
I have been an active member attending conferences since 2011, and received “Honorable Mention” for the piece which I entered in our local chapter’s illustrator competition, fall of 2016.I also received “Second Runner Up” with my piece in the 2017 Tomie dePaola SCBWI contest.I won the SCBWI-WI Illustrator competition at our fall conference in 2017.My first book, PANDA’S PAUSE, written by Dr. Amanda DeSua, was released in November of 2018.I received the People’s Choice award for illustration at the Marvelous Midwest conference in May of 2019.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I work digitally but strive to achieve a hand-created look. I look to capture the essence of childhood in my work, in all it’s shades and emotions.
