ABOUT REBECCA LANGSTON-GEORGE

  • I’m the Regional Advisor for the SCBWI Central-Coastal region. My 11 published book titles include Orphan Trains: Taking the Rails to a New Life (September, 2016, Capstone Press) a National Council on Social Studies Notable book for 2017, as well as For the Right to Learn: The Malala Yousafzai Story (August, 2015, Capstone Press) a Skipping Stones Multicultural Award Winner. My other titles include Deep Cover Spies and Double Crossers of the Cold War; Fearless Spies and Daring Deeds of World War II, The Booth Brothers: Drama, Fame and the Death of President Lincoln and The Women’s Rights Movement.  California Reading Association recently recognized me with the Armin Schulz award for writing that promotes social justice.  When I’m not writing I can be found teaching fifth grade in Bakersfield, California.
