ABOUT SALLY REICHERT
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” – Dr. Seuss
Sally Reichert is an author who was born in Wisconsin and now lives in Goodyear, Arizona with her husband. She holds a bachelor and master’s degree in education from UW-Whitewater and Carthage College and was an elementary school teacher for 28 years.
Now retired, Sally concentrates on writing as a hobby and as a way of continuing her teaching career in a slightly different way. Her first book, The Paper Heart, is a fictional book that teaches kindness and empathy to children and is available on Amazon.
In 2021, she completed her second book, We’re Gross Butt We Can’t Help It! which is a non-fiction title aimed at 7-12 year old children. In it, Sally explores the world of animals and their disgusting eating habits. Children can learn about the dreadful things some creatures eat and the nasty ways some animals get their food.
In her free time Sally enjoys keeping active and participating in sports including pickleball, bocce ball, water volleyball and bike riding. When she is relaxing it is often sitting outdoors enjoying the weather or doing a jigsaw puzzle. She and her husband often take a Caribbean cruise to enjoy the sun, and she also devotes some of her time to working with the homeless.
As an adult, Sally has participated in two Earthwatch Expeditions, one to Kiawah Island, South Carolina and the other to Andros Island in the Bahamas. She hopes to be able to continue to travel and discover new adventures. She also wants to continue to help the homeless find a better way of life and become more self-sufficient.
