ARTIST STATEMENT

  • My love of color and original imagery inspired my early drawings as a child, continuing into adulthood.  My studies with Maurice Sendak in college kindled my passion for the picture book genre, a welcoming and challenging venue for my art.  I’m most comfortable with landscapes and creatures, realistic or otherwise…people aren’t my forte but I’m improving!
I’ve illustrated a few of my own texts, but I’ve also happily enjoyed successful collaborations with talented artists Jeannie Brett, Louise Schroeder and Jan Dolby.  Excited to be back at my drawing table to create THE BUNNY POETS (just out) and a new picture book due in late 2018.
