ABOUT SHANNON O'TOOLE

  • Shannon is a fine artist, illustrator and educator working out of Whitby, Ontario, Canada. She is versatile, and works in a variety of mediums, styles and within various artistic practices. She illustrates characters and scenes which make herself laugh, drawing upon the diverse and quirky people in her life, and children she works with as a teacher. 


    She has illustrated the middle grade fiction series: The Math Kids, as well as two picture books, Stop Reading This Book! and The Adventures of Grandmasaurus published by Common Deer Press. She has also illustrated the cover of a YA fiction book entitled The Story of my Face published by Second Story Press. She has displayed her painted fine art work in galleries throughout Toronto and Ottawa.

ARTIST STATEMENT

  • Shannon O’Toole is a Toronto based illustrator, painter and elementary school teacher. Her playful illustration work is inspired by the unique and humorous characters in her life. Aside from illustrating books for children, Shannon has exhibited her artwork in galleries across Ontario.
