  • Holding my YA novel  ‘Butterflies’ to her heart, a 16 year old American girl asks me ‘Will I have a life?’

A boy in a wheelchair without language thumps his chest after I read out ‘Gracie & Josh’. He wants more.

My Jack books I wrote after my son was bullied at school so our kids are safer.

When a teacher wrote to me. ‘The cemetery scene in I AM JACK really resonated with Maisam as both his parents died in Afghanistan. He is comforted by the thought that they are watching over him and that he can talk to them at anytime, just like Jack does.’

I write because  because kids matter.
