ABOUT TORI CORN
-
Before becoming an author-illustrator, Tori worked as Director of Design in the Textile Industry: buying, selling, and designing fabrics and home furnishing products. She has a bachelor’s degree in Surface Pattern Design from Syracuse University.
Tori’s love affair with children’s literature began when she became a mom. The enthusiasm she felt for funny, heartfelt, picture books rivaled her passion for textiles and inspired her to become an author. Her stories are filled with heart, humor and quirky characters. Tori studied picture book illustration at The School of Visual Arts.
She lives in New York City with her family, including Milo, a handsome Standard Poodle and Yoko, an adorable, adopted Silky Terrier. (Milo is adorable too!)
ARTIST STATEMENT
I adore reading, writing, and editing picture books! When I’m not obsessing over one of my PB manuscripts, I’m working on a book dummy or critiquing a friend’s story. I’ve had two picture books published. What Will It Be, Penelope? and Dixie Wants an Allergy.
