Every chapter contains a quest story and Crystal’s journal page. Each chapter ends with the geology, geography and history of the rock in that chapter. There is even a cut-out bookmark!

Each character that Crystal and Noodle meet are struggling with a life challenge. One character needs to learn about generosity, one bravely uses their voice to do what they love, another realizes that self-acceptance is okay and yet another discovers that other people sometimes get the blues.
