DEAR BOOTSIE
Belinda Hamilton
Synopsis
Two friends, separated by continents, share an adventure from a small African village. While on mission with her family, Ginger has to learn to deal with her new native teacher - who obviously can’t take a joke, a cagey little thief - she can’t wait to get her hands on, and solve the mystery contained in a stack of old letters she discovers while rummaging through an old trunk. And the only thing keeping her sane is writing her BFF, Bootsie, back in the states. Homesick for the good old USA, Ginger soon learns there is a good reason for her being in such a far away land and it’s not about her.

From the Author
Years ago, co-authors and sisters, Barbara and Belinda, conceived the idea of writing a chapter book about two friends separated by continents. Being that the sisters live seven hundred miles from one another made for a convincing parallel, and the cause for this book having been long for the making. At the beginning, their writing efforts mostly occurred during visits, and afterwards, always involved transcribing notes near illegibly scribbled onto a variety of restaurant napkins. After many long phone calls, proving no matter how far you are from someone you love, magic can still happen.
