BEAR AND THE OXBOW ISLAND GANG
When Bear is sent to his grandmother's house on Oxbow Island after a disastrous first week in sixth grade, he doesn't expect to end up chasing a poacher with an eclectic group of new friends. Together they protect endangered plants and learn about the importance of beavers as a keystone species. Using tree forts, squirt guns and Honey the Wonder Dog they capture the poacher who has been trapping beavers and destroying their habitat.
This is the first book in an environmental mystery series set in Maine with a diverse cast of characters.
