Alayne Kay Christian is the content and developmental editor for Blue Whale Press. She is an award-winning children’s book author. Her picture book Butterfly Kisses for Grandma and Grandpa (illustrator Joini Stringfield) received the Mom’s Choice Awards gold medal and an IPPY Awards silver medal. The first book in Alayne’s Sienna, the Cowgirl Fairy chapter book series, Sienna, the Cowgirl Fairy: Trying to Make it Rain (illustrator Brian Martin), won the Reader Views Reviewers Choice award. Both books are available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and bookstores and libraries near you. The next book in the series, Cowboy Trouble, is scheduled for 2019 release. Alayne is the creator and teacher of a picture book writing course, Art of Arc: How to Write and Analyze Picture Book Manuscripts. She is a member of SCBWI and a critique ninja for Julie Hedlund's 12x12.

Alayne is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She is the founder and administrator of Sub Six, a Facebook group intended for supporting and motivating picture book writers with their submission goals. 

After twelve years of helping women move toward their desired lives, Alayne hung up her life coaching hat to focus 100% on her writing career. Alayne often combines her coaching skills with her writing knowledge when giving critiques, writing blog posts, and teaching.

Alayne has been happily married for 40 years and has one adult child and one granddaughter. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas.
