Bio:
I was born and raised in Winchester, Hampshire.  After spending some time in London, I later moved to Wiltshire, where I live with my young family. I was a full time teacher for 16 years but I am now fortunate to be able to devote more of my time to illustrating. I have worked with some great authors since 'taking the plunge' with a few books released and more on the way.

I have always enjoyed painting and drawing and I am passionate about illustration.  During my career as a teacher, I often used my art in teaching to illustrate stories and poems with my classes.

My inspiration comes from a love of books and poetry and my work is influenced by a wide variety of different authors and poets, primarily children's authors.  My style is typically using bright and bold colours to portray humanistic animals and characters from well-known tales.  I also enjoy sketching caricatures of pets and other animals.

Presentation Description:
During my career as a full time teacher, I ran different 'Storytelling' and 'Illustration' clubs for primary children.

After a while it became apparent that I should amalgamate the two, so I used my storytelling skills to engage children with characters and events and then model how I would illustrate them.

These were extremely successful and oversubscribed - I even did some sessions for parents.

My workshops are based on this very successful model.
