Bio:
I wrote and published my first picture book in 2010, Today is the Day to Run Away. It’s the story of a big toe that wants to run away and see the world. But the dilemma is what will the other toes do?
My inspiration for this book came from two sources. I worked with children creating art at the Burnaby Art Gallery for the City of Burnaby, BC, Canada. Part of my program at the Gallery included a Storytime. I love reading to children.
The second source involved my experiences after breaking one of my toes. I wondered what my broken toe and my other toes would have to say about that!
Currently, I visit one of the local elementary schools for Literacy Day and have also read frequently at Brentwood Town Centre’s Storytime. See my website: bigtoepublishing.com
I am presently working on my next book. I’d enjoy visiting your classroom or library to share my story and conduct an art activity related to it.
