Bio:
Welcome! My name is Ekaterina (Katya) Tabakh, and I'm very glad to be working in the field of children's book illustration.
I was born in Moscow, Russia and grew up in an artistic family that taught me painting, drawing and art composition which encouraged me to go to art school. I moved to the US sometime ago and live in San Francisco, CA with my husband and two children. I have been employed as an animator in the US and Russia, and, throughout the years, I have worked under many different art directors with very different artistic visions, who taught me to be flexible and adaptable with my style while still maintaining my own creative voice.
Lately, I have become fascinated with the art of book illustration. I specialize in children’s book illustration for all ages, from little kids to young adult readers. My debut books were published in collaboration with a Japanese publisher in 2006.
