Ellen Hopkins is the award-winning author of 20 nonfiction books for children and 15 NY Times bestselling young adult novels-in-verse, plus 4 novels for adult readers. Her debut middle grade novel, THE COUNTERFEIT KID, will publish Fall 2020. A California native, Ellen has lived in northern Nevada for over 30 years and considers herself a "naturalized Nevadan." She lives with her extended family, a brilliant German Shepherd, one rescue cat and three ponds (not pounds) of fish near Carson City. She was the regional adviser for the Nevada chapter of the SCBWI for ten years, and is a member of the SCBWI International advisory board.
