Emma D. Dryden is the author of the award-winning picture book, WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR? (Sourcebooks/Little Pickle) and founder of the premier children's editorial and publishing consultancy firm, drydenbks LLC. She edits children’s books; consults with authors, illustrators, agents, and foreign publishers; is a creative consultant with several children’s eBook and app publishers; writes poetry and fiction, and keeps a blog called "our stories, ourselves." Emma's publishing career started at Viking and Random House, and she eventually became Vice President, Publisher of Atheneum Books for Young Readers and Margaret K. McElderry Books, imprints of Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing. Emma has edited over 1,000 titles for young readers across all genres, including work by Ellen Hopkins, Karma Wilson, Susan Cooper, Alan Katz, David Catrow, Raul Colon, Marjorie Priceman, Lee Bennett Hopkins, David Diaz, and Paul Zelinsky. A highly sought-after speaker and workshop instructor, Emma is passionate about craft. Emma is on the SCBWI Board of Advisors.
