Bio:
There are currently 20 books in print in my scats & tracks for children series (Who Pooped in the Park?). I have also written nine nonfiction books for grownups. I have several more book projects in the works, mostly nature and science titles for children. I have been writing for magazines and newspapers since the 1980s, and have hundreds of articles published. I have done a great deal of speaking and teaching work with students of all ages. I have a (now-expired) teaching credential in computer science, and hold two patents in accessibility technology. I've spoken at schools ranging from tiny elementary schools to the University of California at Berkeley. My "poop talks" for kids are engaging interactive experiences where I bring samples of different animal scats, read from one of my books, and share stories with the children. I currently live in Red Lodge, Montana, and manage a community-owned indie bookstore just down the road in Billings.

Presentation Description:

I have done a great deal of speaking and teaching work with students of all ages. I’ve spoken at schools ranging from tiny elementary schools to the University of California at Berkeley, as well as giving talks at national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and conferences. I also presented a talk at TEDxBozeman in 2014.

My “poop talks” for kids are engaging interactive experiences where I bring samples of different animal scats, read from one of my books, and share stories with the children. For the older audiences, I talk about writing as a career.
