I am a retired nurse educator with a PhD in Nursing Education. I have 50 years of nursing experience in various specialty areas. In 2015 I retired from my position as an Assistant Professor of nursing because of health challenges.
I have 3 wonderful adult children and 4 amazing grandchildren. I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom when my children were small. During this time, I was really into Sesame Street and Dr. Seuss sagas. I became hooked on the joy of celebrating simple experiences as the profound events they are: making friends, being kind, feeling sad sometimes.
I live beside the beautiful Chowan River in northeastern North Carolina. Where I sit in my chair, I can watch the river roll by through all four of the seasons. I see the wildlife wherever I go in this rural, forested location. We share so much in common with the other creatures on this earth. I enjoy personifying these creatures in my stories as I observe them living their lives.
