Bio:

Jacquetta Nammar Feldman is the author of middle grade novels Wishing Upon the Same Stars, a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection and a 2023 TLA SPOT Reading List selection, and The Puttermans Are in the House. She loves writing stories of all kinds, and when she’s not curled up with a book or typing at her computer, she can be found hiking the beautiful hills of Austin, Texas. She earned her BS in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, and her MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Jacquetta is a member of SCBWI and the Writers’ League of Texas, and she is represented by Pete Knapp of Park & Fine Literary and Media.

Presentation Description:

Jacquetta is available for in-person and virtual school visits for grades 3-8 with topics like: Writing Your Identity, Characters and Creators Are Curious Beings!, Hey, What’s Your Point of View?, Plotting Along, Remarkable Repetition, and more! She loves talking about children’s books, her path to publication and writing process, where she gets her inspiration for characters and stories, and how we can all find the courage to tell the stories of our hearts.

She is happy to offer free 15-minute online Q&A visits for classrooms and bookclubs that have read her middle grade novels Wishing Upon the Same Stars and The Puttermans Are in the House.
