Bio:

James Foley is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator, cartoonist, public speaker and workshop facilitator from Australia.

He is a past Regional Advisor and Illustrator Coordinator for SCBWI Australia West.

James is the author/illustrator of the S.Tinker Inc. graphic novels: Gastronauts, Dungzilla, and Brobot. The books feature a brilliant young inventor called Sally Tinker and her stinky baby brother Joe.

James also illustrated The Last Viking (Fremantle Press, 2011), The Last Viking Returns (2014) and My Dead Bunny (2015). My Dead Bunny was shortlisted for Picture Book of the Year in the 2016 Children’s Book Council of Australia Awards. The Last Viking won the 2012 Crystal Kite Award for Australia and New Zealand, the 2012 WA Young Readers’ Hoffman Award, and a 2012 Children’s Book Council of Australia Junior Judges Award. It was shortlisted for a further four awards.

James' picture book In The Lion was selected for the International Youth Library’s 2013 White Raven list.

James is a big fan of yoga and has far too many books in his bedside reading pile.
