Bio:
A Michigan artist/author/illustrator, my childhood Clarkston home on five acres instilled in me a love of wild story. My imagination and nature experiences helped create my mid-grade HOLLY WILD nature mystery series, picture books, mid-grade fantasy, and others. I use humor to teach science, history, and legend as a way to engage kids. I illustrated MeeGenius! titles and Michigan History for Kids Magazine. I was author and illustrator-in-residence for the Literacy Legacy Fund of MI in 2015, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park Artist-in-Residence in 2008, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Artist-in-Residence in 2007, using those experiences to fuel my tales. I've exhibited fine art for 30 years, been a county park seasonal naturalist and graphic artist and completed the Children's Writing course at the Institute of Children's Literature. I wander the wild seeking hidden stories. I live with my pets in a national forest in Bitely, MI with bears and porcupines as wild neighbors.
