Michelle's first volunteer job was at the age of 7 or 8 at the public library in her home town. The library, in a small municipal building that also housed the town firetruck, had only 10 book shelves. Wanting to spend as much time in the library as possible, she talked the librarian into letting her put the library cards for the checked-out books into alphabetical order. (Do you remember those little cards in the pocket at the back of the book?) When, in her teens, Michelle first visited a city library, she really did stand in the lobby with her mouth open. A whole building, with two whole floors of books! She wanted to live there. Michelle worked as a library technician in a science library for 10 years before taking a detour into the world of technology. She writes middle-grade and picture books. She is on the hunt for an agent to rep her first fantasy novel and PBs.
