Peggy Archer writes fiction, non-fiction, and poetry for children. Her newest picture book, A HIPPY-HOPPY TOAD, won the SCBWI Work-in-Progress award for picture book text. It was released from Schwartz & Wade March 2018.

Besides writing for children, Peggy has worked as a pediatric nurse and as a school nurse. She and her husband have six children and several grandchildren. A native Hoosier from Indiana, she now lives with her husband in O'Fallon, Missouri.
When she is not writing for children, Peggy enjoys speaking to young people and adults about books and writing.
Her presentations for students focus on writing fiction or poetry, how a book grows from an idea to finished book, or the life of an author, from reader to writer.
Her presentations for adults focus on writing picture books, how to 'show' and not 'tell,' writing poetry for children, or the journey from reader to writer.
