I am currently the RA for SCBWI Brazos Valley. My goal as RA is to continue to support the talented kid lit creators in Brazos Valley as well as grow new talent. I am especially interested in making sure our region is inclusive and reflects the diversity of our state. Additionally, I co-run Kidlit Latinx, a Facebook support group for aspiring Latinx children’s book authors and illustrators, and am a contributor to the Latinx in Kidlit website.
I am a Paraguayan-American travel and kid lit author with a love for stories about culture and communication. My childhood was spent moving from country to country with the Foreign Service, visiting Paraguay whenever possible. My travel guidebook, OTHER PLACES TRAVEL GUIDE TO PARAGUAY, was published by Other Places Publishing in 2012, updated in 2017 and lead to work with “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown,” The Guardian and KCRW’s “Good Food.” I was fortunate to discover SCBWI shortly after moving to College Station and credit our wonderful members with helping me grow so much as a writer from my very first meeting.
