Illustrating children's books has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. As a young girl I had numerous adventures as I explored the forests and fields behind my parents house. I find a lot of inspiration in my work from the natural world, including both living and extinct animals. Humor is also extremely important to me as an agent of storytelling and bringing characters to life.
In this 45 minute presentation I will read a small section of " " (Tilbury House Nature Books, May 2016) discussing fun animal facts, followed by a short Q&A about the book, illustration, and/or animals, and teach the students to draw different kinds of animal poop! If at all possible, the teacher should read the book to students ahead of time so they are familiar with the vocab and themes within the book.
