BIPOC Scholarship

All expense paid trip to the Winter Conference or tuition to the Virtual Summer Conference for Black, Indigenous, and People of color.

Two scholarship winners will receive tuition to the 2026 SCBWI Winter Conference in New York

Submission portal can be found in your Member Profile under the AWARDS tab.

Submissions for the BIPOC Scholarship open October 15 through November 12, midnight PST.

Submission guidelines

Please include the following information:

1) A one-paragraph artist statement and description of current project

2) One page writing sample OR two illustrations

Writing samples may be submitted as a PDF. Label PDF with the following naming convention: "First Name__Last Name__BIPOC Scholarship"

Images may be submitted as JPG or PNG

Non-members may apply.

How to Submit

1. Click on your MEMBER HOME

2. Click on the AWARDS Icon

3. Scroll down to the BIPOC Scholarship box and click 'submit'
