The Gathering of Heroes Begins Owen Arach, second son of the Duke of Red Dragon’s Keep, is afraid he’ll never measure up to his brother’s courage and bravery, even though he and his Sword of Light fought valiantly beside Thomas in the opening battle of the Demon Wars. Chosen by an arrogant magical WindRunner, Owen is sent to Aos Si, the home of his aunt and uncle, to find a piece, and amulet, of the Cumhacht ar Draigoini Talisman. It holds life, and death, for the Dragons. Owen must pass through the Darkened Forest, where the Bell of Prophecy tolls for the breaking of its prison. An elf and dire wolf join Owen and his companions as heroes gather. In the race to unite the pieces of the Talisman, Owen must brave Dark Fey, close a Rift into another world and battle Demons in the Aos Si caverns to retrieve the second amulet. His parents, kidnapped months before and escaped, and the Forest Lords join him to battle the Demons attacking Aos Si. The Red Dragon brings his brother Thomas to the battle, as well as her fire.  All of the WindRunners on the Windward Plains join them to defeat the armies of Dark Fey and Demons. The battle is won.  Plans to take the war to the Demons are made. Owen has matured through the trials he has faced.
